Come Unto Me

Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Matthew 11:28

One of the most transformative invitations ever given by Jesus is contained in the beginning word of the verse above – "Come". It's an invitation that has changed the lives of countless people across the world. It speaks directly to the human condition—our exhaustion, our worries, our hidden struggles and boldly invites us to a new life.

Jesus doesn’t say, “Come to me once you’ve figured it all out,” or “Come to me when you’re strong.” Instead, He calls to us in our weakness, in our weariness, in our brokenness. He acknowledges our burdens and offers not just relief, but rest—a deep, soul-level peace that the world cannot provide.

This rest is not merely physical. It’s the kind that quiets the anxious mind, soothes the aching heart, and restores the weary spirit. It’s the assurance that we are not alone, that we are seen, known, and loved by a Savior who carries our burdens with us.

In accepting this invitation, we are not promised a life free of hardship, but we are promised companionship through it. We are invited into a relationship where grace replaces guilt, peace replaces pressure, and love replaces loneliness.

So today, if you find yourself tired—emotionally, spiritually, or physically—hear this verse as a personal call. Let it be a reminder that you don’t have to carry everything alone. There is rest, and it is found in Him.

This invitation is not reserved for the confident or the capable—it’s for the ones who feel like they’re barely holding on. He says COME:

In our weakness, when we feel inadequate, overwhelmed, or defeated, He draws near. He doesn’t shame us for our limitations; He embraces them. In fact, Scripture reminds us that His power is made perfect in weakness. It’s in those moments when we feel like we have nothing left to offer that He reminds us we are still deeply loved and fully accepted.

In our weariness, when the weight of life feels too heavy—when responsibilities pile up, relationships strain, and our souls feel tired—He offers rest. Not just sleep or escape, but true restoration. He sees the exhaustion behind our smiles, the silent battles we fight, and He says, “Come to me.” His presence becomes a refuge, a place where we can exhale and be renewed.

In our brokenness, when we carry wounds from the past, regrets from yesterday, or pain that feels too deep to speak aloud, He doesn’t turn away. He steps into the shattered places of our hearts with compassion and healing. He doesn’t demand perfection—He welcomes the pieces. In His hands, broken things become beautiful.

When life breaks us—through loss, disappointment, failure, or pain—we often feel like we must hide the fragments, ashamed of the mess. But Jesus doesn’t ask us to be whole before we come to Him. The parts we think are too damaged, too painful, too far gone—He sees them, holds them, and begins the work of restoration. Not by erasing the cracks, but by transforming them.

In His hands, our brokenness becomes a testimony. The scars become sacred. The pain becomes purpose. What once felt like ruin becomes a canvas for redemption. He says COME, don’t hold back.  If you’re feeling fractured, know this: you are not beyond repair. You are not forgotten. Jesus says Come! Delay no longer.

  1. Amen.

It took a little time most of my 66 years to understand to go to Jesus when I'm tired, lay down in green pastures when I'm tired, stop fighting this war by myself and let him fight it for me.

I just love peace and I surely love my father God Jesus Christ and I love the Holy Spirit my guide.

God bless you and thank you thank you for the reminders love all that you send keep them coming.
