Lord, I Believe You Meant It

When You said, “I will never leave you,”

I held it close, though winds deceive.

Through storm and silence, doubt and dread,

I clung to every word You said.

When You whispered, “Peace I give to you,”

I chose to breathe, I chose to live.

Though chaos danced around my soul,

Your promise kept my spirit whole.

When You vowed, “I have a plan for you,”

I walked through fire, I dared to stand.

Though paths were dark and dreams delayed,

Your faithfulness did not betray.

When You cried, “It is finished,”

My shame and fear began to diminish.

The cross became my resting place,

A monument of love and grace.

So when I pray and skies stay still,

When answers wait beyond the hill,

I’ll press, I’ll plead, I’ll hold the line—

Your Word is true, Your voice divine.

I’ll give You no rest, I’ll stay on my knees,

Till mercy flows like healing seas.

Not because You’ve failed to hear,

But because Your promise draws me near.

You said, “Come,” and I trembled,

Afraid of the cost, the climb, the call.

But You meant it—every syllable—

Even when I stumbled, even when I fell.

So now I stand, not in strength but surrender,

Not in pride but in praise.

For every word You’ve spoken, Lord,

I believe You meant it—always.

Lord, I believe You meant it all—

Each sacred vow, each holy call.

And I will pray until I see

The fullness of Your Word in me.
