Anticipation
(Inspired by the story of the woman with issue of blood in Luke 8: 43-48)
She waits in shadows, twelve years long,
Her body frail, her spirit strong.
Each step a prayer, each breath a plea,
For healing whispered silently.
The crowd is thick, the voices rise,
Hope flickers bright within her eyes.
If only—just a touch, a thread,
The hem of Him who heals the dead.
Anticipation swells her chest,
Faith surges, restless, unrepressed.
Her trembling hand extends in flight,
Toward mercy clothed in living light.
And in that moment, time stands still,
Her bleeding ceases by His will.
Anticipation turns to peace,
Her soul restored, her chains released.
